For the first time near Cairo, (CEB) is used in building a 2 store residence. The neighbors couldn’t believe that with (CEB), we could achieve and build a two stores house. (CEB) with 6% lime, higher compressed strength (52-58 kg/cm2), regular shape, regular size and nice color gave the people more confidence in the adobe construction. By using domes and vaults for roofing the first floor and then the second floor, a vertical extension has been added to the residence. This achievement solved the problem of building on a limited area. This project is a good example for using natural local building materials (Tafla) to cover their present needs and requirements for today’s residence. Nowadays we can proudly say that adobe houses are not only low cost houses , but also durable, reliable, efficient and quality beautiful shelters.
